Did you know that with more than eleven museums Utrecht is a genuine museum city? Whether you are interested in contemporary or medieval art, ghost pianos or steam engines, the marvellous collections of the Utrecht museums will surprise you every time. What’s more, museum visits are easily combined with a full day or weekend trip to Utrecht. Every museum lies at walking distance from Utrecht’s lovely cafés, stylish hotels and B&Bs, as well as great shopping - right in the middle of the charming city centre.
Utrecht Museums is an initiative of Stichting Utrechts Museumkwartier. This foundation is a collaboration between eleven Utrecht museums: the AAMU, museum for contemporary aboriginal art, Centraal Museum, dick bruna huis, The Dom Tower, Geldmuseum (money museum), The Railway Museum, The Utrecht Archives, Museum Catharijneconvent, Museum Speelklok (musical clock museum), Sonnenborgh – museum & observatory, and the University Museum. The foundation’s aim is to develop joint marketing for the Utrecht Museums and to promote the collaboration between them.
