Make your own graphic novel! In the workshop at the exhibition: Jan van Scorel. Sede Vacante 1523, you’ll be introduced to all aspects of creating a historical graphic novel. You will work according to a number of assignments. How to write a script? How to make use of sources to develop your text and images? How to develop a character?

The assignments are provided at different levels, so that beginners can take part just as well as experienced artists and writers. Assistance is provided by workshop staff consisting of professional cartoonists, illustrators and artists.

The workshop staff will moreover be working on their own artwork. So even if you do not intend to create your own work, you can still observe how a graphic novel is created. The workshop staff draw their inspiration from art pieces from the museum’s collection and important historic events.
