Many of his designs feature unusual combinations of materials. He also frequently re-uses old furniture or tableware. For the <I>Light Shade Shade</I>, Bey has placed a traditional chandelier in a new, reflective jacket. When the light is on, the chandelier is visible. But when it is out, you can see only the mirrored shade, which reflects its environment.
