Opening party: the new Centraal Museum

The opening weekend of the renewed Centraal Museum starts with an exclusive party on Friday evening, 22 April. The party will take place throughout the building, the museum garden and the Nicolaïkerk (the adjacent St Nicholas Church). Centraal Museum is raffling off a number of guest tickets to this exclusive party.

The new Centraal Museum

After three years of renovation work, the new Centraal Museum will open its doors fully for the first time on 22, 23 and 24 April. The museum has undergone a thorough metamorphosis, resulting in an open and transparent museum that connects to its surroundings. The museum has been refurbished from the entrance to the museum garden, and down to the smallest details. Its new core mission is to enrich the public with art and culture from the world of Utrecht. The opening weekend gives visitors a chance to experience this for the first time, as the opening coincides with the opening of the new permanent collection, titled The World of Utrecht. To read more about the renewed museum, go to the blog post by Marco Grob, managing director.

The opening party

A wide variety of outstanding artists and performers will perform at the party: from music to illustrations and from documentaries to poetry. The curators, management and architects are on hand to guide you on inspiring routes through the museum. And as night falls, you can enjoy refreshments in the merrily decorated museum garden (the largest garden in Utrecht’s city centre!).
